Inshore waters from Matakana Island to Mayor Island to Motiti Island and then east to Torere River mouth.

Situation:

A low moves east of the country today while a weakening trough becomes slow moving over the upper North Island. A ridge spreads across much of the country today, and remains until Thursday. Another low approaches the country from the Tasman Sea on Friday.

Tuesday: Westerly 10 knots, changing southeast 10 knots this morning, then rising to 15 knots this afternoon. Sea slight. Fine spells.

Outlook:

Outlook until midnight Friday: Wednesday: Southeast 15 knots, easing to 10 knots in the morning. Becoming variable 5 knots for a time in the afternoon. Cloudy periods, chance shower in the west. Thursday: Southeast 10 knots, tending northeast 10 knots in the afternoon. Cloudy periods. Friday: Rising to northeast 20 knots. Cloud increasing. A few showers developing.

Swell:

Swell forecast to midnight Friday: Easterly 1 metre, easing to half a metre Friday. Northerly 1 metre, dying out Wednesday.
