Area Description:

Manukau and Waitemata Harbours, Hauraki Gulf and Bream Head to Cape Colville.

Situation:

A slow moving trough lies east of the country and gradually weakens away today. Meanwhile a high lies over the South Island,and extends onto the North Island from Thursday. Northwesterlies strengthen over the lower South Island late Friday as a front approaches from the Tasman Sea.

For Manukau Harbour Wednesday: Variable 5 knots. Southwest 10 knots developing in the afternoon. Sea slight. Fine, high cloud increasing into the evening. For Waitemata Harbour: Wednesday: Variable 5 knots. Southwest 10 knots developing late afternoon. Sea slight. Fine, high cloud increasing into the evening. For the Hauraki Gulf and Bream Head to Cape Colville: Wednesday: Southerly 10 knots, then daytime sea breezes to 10 knots. Sea slight. Fine, apart from some high cloud increasing in the evening.

Outlook until midnight Saturday: Thursday: Southerly 10 knots. Fine. Friday: Becoming easterly 10 knots but 15 knots in the outer gulf later. Fine. Saturday: Easterly rising to 15 knots but 20 knots in the outer gulf. Fine.
